In this video, I talk about how covenant relationships should create an unbreakable bond between two people that can endure the hardest of times and any kind of stress.
True covenant is not rooted in a common struggle, but in mutual love. Covenant needs no enemy, for it lays down its life for its friend. When a culture of covenant is absent in community, society adopts an ‘us and them’ mentality because their bonds are rooted in a common foe.
In other words, there is a need to have an enemy because their friendship is based on who they are against. Covenant destroys the ‘us and them’ mindset and bonds people through God’s love, not mutual agreement.
