Do you feel like you fit in? Like you have a group of people you can fully be yourself with? We all have a deep need to feel like we belong to a place or group. This need is healthy because we’re made to live in connection with others. I’ve seen lonely people struggle with finding a sense of belonging because they look at the group they want to be a part of and think, “I need to look like that person to really fit in.” Comparison steals so much, and today I want to encourage you to stop letting comparison steal your God-given purpose to belong to a tribe. If this is something you struggle with then check out this week’s Flashback Friday video:
Today let’s draw a line in the sand and say that pretending and striving ends today! We will be our authentic selves! Let’s stop looking at others for a picture of what we’re supposed to look and act like, and rather look to our Father in heaven to show us the beauty of how He’s individually created us! I’d like you to take some time to invite Holy Spirit to search your heart and speak to any places of rejection or isolation, so that His love can cover you and empower you to be fully yourself. And for those of you who already feel like you belong, remember how powerful it is to reach out and invite others in. Do you feel like you can fully be yourself? Tell me about it in the comments!
